Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)

We use resources from the National Centre of Excellence for Language Pedagogy (NCELP) to teach French in Key Stage Two (from Year 3 through to Year 6).

These resources are in line with the Teaching School Council’s 2016 MFL Pedagogy Review which drew on research into foreign language learning and teaching, and highlighted the three key knowledge strands: phonics, vocabulary, and grammar.

The resources also exploit everyday and rich cultural contexts to develop confidence in our pupils when speaking French.

For more information, please contact the MFL co-Leads, Mrs J Mills and Miss K Meade, on 01483 273286.
