Art and Design

We use Cornerstones to provide an Art and Design curriculum that is well sequenced, coherent and builds pupils’ knowledge and skills over time. Our curriculum provides clear expectations as to what pupils will know and be able to do at given ‘end points’ throughout each year, and does so within the context of our specific school community.  

The Art and Design projects develop pupils' skills and knowledge of visual elements, art forms, artists and art movements, and we provide specialist resources to support our pupils. Projects are placed alongside other subject projects where there are opportunities for making meaningful connections. Within each project, we provide opportunities for experiential learning and exhibiting, understanding the benefits of these to pupils' holistic development.
