Phonics

We are passionate about ensuring that all children become confident and enthusiastic readers and writers, and we believe that phonics provides the foundations for these skills. In order to support this aim we follow the Little Wandle: Letters and Sounds Revised phonics scheme.

Writing

We follow the Literacy Tree's 'Writing Roots' to teach Writing throughout KS1 and KS2. The Literacy tree is a complete, thematic approach to the teaching of primary English that places children's literature at its core. This book-based approach provides a vital, rich context for learning whilst also supporting the development of reading for pleasure.
