HEADTEACHER'S MESSAGES
It has been another exciting week here at Cranleigh C of E Primary School!
Our children have all taken part in an art workshop delivered by professional illustrator/author Michelle Russell. Year 5 have joined thousands of other primary-aged pupils in an interactive mission to launch a space rocket! And some of our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils attended a jazz performance at Cranleigh Arts Centre. What a lovely way to spend an afternoon.
Next Friday, I am meeting Angela Richardson MP in person, along with representatives from the Police and Surrey County Council, to discuss community cohesion in Cranleigh. Your views on our village are so important to help inform this discussion. Thank you to those of you who have been able to complete my form. If you haven't yet, please click HERE. It only takes 2 minutes and all responses are anonymous. The survey will be open until Wednesday next week.
Wishing you all a very happy and safe weekend.
Mrs Kate Pelazza

Michelle Russell Art Sessions
Michelle is an author, illustrator and animator who works closely with Gypsy/Roma author Richard O'Neill. She is from a Showman family.
On Wednesday, she delivered a 'Doodletastic Art Workshop' to the whole school. We are so proud of the children's artwork below!
School are also going to be using the children's artwork to create a reading bookmark. Mrs Jones, Year 5 teacher and KS2 Lead, will be providing more information about this in due course.
Do check out some of Michelle's work HERE.

Jazz Performance
Some of our Upper Key Stage Two pupils had a wonderful time once more at Cranleigh's Art Centre on Tuesday.
They attended a performance by vocalist Alice Zawadzki and jazz guitarist Rob Luft.
Thank you, Cranleigh Arts!

Reach for the Stars!
Yesterday afternoon, Year 5 joined Mission Control on an exciting Earth observation mission along with 1000s of other primary-aged children as part of The STEM Hub.
This interactive session enabled our children to view our beautiful planet from space and visit the orbiting satellites that are helping us combat climate change. They had a blast!

Winnie the Pooh Day
Our Reception children spent this week immersing themselves in all things Winnie the Pooh to commemorate Winnie the Pooh Day yesterday.
The children explored with a wide range of materials to create their own interpretations of the characters.
Well done, Reception!

Every single one of our pupils MUST be wearing a seat belt when they travel in a car or bus/coach.
You can be fined up to £500 if a child under 14 is not in the correct car seat or wearing a seat belt while you’re driving.
More importantly, the effects of a crash on an unrestrained child can be devastating.
Please do not put your child's life at risk.

The Church of England shares a daily prayer each day. The prayers can be read and listened to HERE.

Today's Prayer for the Second Sunday of Epiphany:
Almighty God,
in Christ you make all things new:
transform the poverty of our nature by the riches of your grace,
and in the renewal of our lives
make known your heavenly glory;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

Well done to Reception for having the highest attendance this week! However, every single class has improved, so we're incredibly proud of you all.
Well done to Year 3 for still having the highest attendance to date this academic year. Keep up the great effort!
